The National Honor Society (NHS) is a service-oriented organization
open to students in grades 10 to 12 who have a grade point average
of 3.2 or higher and have demonstrated high moral character, a willingness
to serve others and show a proficiency in leadership.
Service opportunities the members participate in yearly include
serving at numerous Academy functions, including hosting at Parent
Night, Open Houses, Science Symposium for Girls and Graduation and
serving as the backstage crew for the Band’s Christmas and
Spring Concerts. In addition, NHS members frequently take time out
of their busy schedules to volunteer at local churches, hospital
and other charitable organizations and tutor younger students.
Earning membership in NHS is one of the highest honors a student
at the Academy can receive.
