The Academy’s soccer program advocates the “Lancer Way,” incorporating the concepts of “Focus. Attitude. Intensity. Trust. Heart.” (F.A.I.T.H.) and “Positive Results Involve Discipline and Effort” (PRIDE), while teaching fundamental skills of the game, including teamwork, accountability and respect. In addition to skills garnered on the field, the program aims to help athletes develop positive life skills, such as leadership, goal-setting, teamwork and individual growth.
Students are eligible to participate on the Intermediate level beginning in grade seven, and the Varsity level beginning in grade nine.
Head Coach Ramsey Siobal is in his second season at the helm of the Lancer soccer program. He joined the program as an assistant in 2007, when an increase in the number of participants allowed the Lancers to field a Varsity team for the first time in over a decade.
Since 1998, Siobal has volunteered with the American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) West Oahu Region 769 as a coach, age-group coordinator for various age groups and select teams and currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors and coach administrator for the region.
He also has experience as an assistant coach on the club soccer level with REAL Hawai’i Futbol Club and Hawai’i Rush Soccer Club and has been on the coaching staff of the Honolulu Bulls Soccer Club since 2007.
