APPLYING FOR TUITION AID

Tuition assistance is available on the basis of demonstrated need. If you believe that your resources are not sufficient to meet the total costs of a Sacred Hearts Academy education, you are encouraged to apply.

One application may be submitted for all dependent children.

Application Fee


The $34 processing fee is payable to TADS ($29 if applying online before February 29). Failure to pay the processing fee may delay the financial evaluation.

Documents
The following supporting documents must be mailed or faxed to TADS within a week of submitting an online application.

• Household members' most recently completed federal tax forms (personal and businesses owned)

• W-2's from each job held by household members

• Two most recent pay stubs from each job held by household members

• Forms 1099 or other documents that establish the amount of miscellaneous monthly or yearly income you currently receive (i.e., welfare, food stamps, unemployment, workers’ compensation, etc)

• All corporate, partnership, and trust forms if a household member owns 20% or more interest in a corporation, partnership or trust (subject to additional $19 TADS processing fee)
Send copies only; do not send originals!

Special circumstances? If so, submit a typed or written letter with your documents. Type your TADS ID number, parent’s first & last name, telephone number(s) and e-mail address on the letter.

Note for separated or divorced parents and single-parent households:
Although TADS does not require income documentation from the non-custodial parent, TADS does require the custodial parent to send documentation regarding alimony & child support received (section 5) and alimony & child support paid (section 16). If the biological parents share joint custody, then income documentation from both biological parents is required.

Applicants must include the confirmation printout from your final online session. Please write your TADS ID number on all documents.


Award notices mailed
Second week of April for applications received by TADS by February 29, 2008.

Late applicants’ award notices will be issued in mid-May, and monthly thereafter.

Work-Study Assignments
Students awarded tuition assistance in grades 7 - 12 must participate in the Academy’s work-study program. Work-study assignments are coordinated by the Director of Student Life.

Students are asked to be available during the middle of August to assist teachers before the school year begins.

Work study students are asked to be available August 7 and 8 to assist teachers in preparing for the start of the school year.

Work-study students will be assigned to complete specific task for 30 minutes each school day. Typical tasks include cleaning classrooms, filing, preparing bullentin boards, and helping with classroom set-up. Consistent quality performance os assignments is expected. Unsatisfactory performance of task or inadequate attendance will be grounds for revocation of tuition aid.

Henriette Memorial Scholarship
Sacred Hearts Academy is pleased to announce the Henriette Memorial Scholarship for students entering grades 6-9. As girls of good character and with satisfactory academic achievement, scholarship recipients will be awarded full tuition, excluding fees and books. The scholarship can be renewed annually.

Scholarship recipients must demonstrate:
- Good character
- Financial need
- Satisfactory academic achievement
- Involvement in extracurricular, church and community activities

Applicants must submit the following:
- A completed application for admission to Sacred Hearts Academy by January 7, 2008.
- Henriette Application Form
- A copy of their report card for the 2006-2007 school year and the first semester of the 2007-2008 school year
- Two completed teacher reference reports
- Results of their most recent Standard Achievement Test
- Complete the TADS (Tuition Aid Data Service) on line application at
www.tuitionaid.com. Paper applications are available in the Admissions Office. Submit IRS Form 1040 and W-2s directly to TADS by March 31st:

The deadline for submitting the Henriette Memorial Scholarship application is January 7, 2008. Supporting documents from current school are due by February 15th. Scholarship recipients will be notified in April.

Applicants who are not selected will be considered for financial assistance in the regular tuition aid program at Sacred Hearts Academy.
